Just a gentle reminder that places for both competitions are filling up fast. Our competitions are suitable for all archers, there are age categories in both the junior and senior competitions, and separate categories for novices, so those who have just completed the beginners course have something . excuse the pun, to aim for!! Both entry forms are attached to this post. See you there!
Bowmen of Warfield are again opening up the club to the public on the 16th of June 2018 for anyone who would like to try archery.
Click on the link below to book a 1 hour time slot with a coach to try shooting. Food and drink will also be available.
The first of the outdoor reports for the 2018 Season. The reports includes all score sheets left at the club house and any competition results that I have been notified about.
Please email me directly (firstname.lastname@example.org) with any competitions you attend so I can pick up the necessary results and record your score, classification and handicap.
For anyone unsure of what a handicap, score or classification are then please contact a coach or ask/email me direct. For those that achieve a new classification this year, a badge will be handed out accordingly. However, if you have already achieved this classification in a previous year, a badge will not!
The club records have been recently updated and the latest copy has been pinned to the notice board in the clubhouse.
If you have any questions or observations then please feel free to contact me.
Well done to all who competed and the winners:-
Matt Shaw - Overall
Wendy Shaw - Leading Lady
Hannah Devlin - Top Junior
We are making changes for the next Winter which will make the competition more open and hopefully will encourage even more to brave the weather. Further details in the Autumn.
One week to go and the leader board is tight.
The latest update is Frostbite 2017-2018 - Up to 18-03-18
Please find the latest Frostbite League.
Congratulations to Hannah Devlin for achieving a 275 badge. This, along with all badges not handed out will be left in the club house or handed out at a coaching evening.
With the best 17 scores to count, we can expect the run in to be tight and the leader board to swap around.
Congratulations to David Holland (Recurve) and Tamas Gasper (Compound) who have reached the 300 badge level.
All badges will be awarded during March and/or left on the notice board.
Congratulations to the following people
- Colin Simpson - 550 Portsmouth Badge
- Harvey Cecil - F classification
- Rab Miller - E classification
Badges will be handed out during the month of March and/or left on the notice board in the club house.
Next month, the final indoor report will be produced and therefore please advise if you are taking part in any indoor tournaments/shooting in early April which would normally be excluded. Unless notified otherwise, the indoor season will be concluded at the end of March and the outdoor season will formally begin. For anyone who has started shooting outdoors, and I'm aware of some outdoor tournaments which start soon, these scores will be recorded, but will be included within the first outdoor report in April.
At last you can plan your summer shooting schedule. All the local and many further afield tournaments are listed with links to the entry form. Why not do some competitions this year, they are great fun and will build your confidence no end. If you need advice on which tournaments to enter, what kit you need to take etc. please ask. I will try and update the list during the year. Good luck and good shooting! Laura Tudor - tournament organiser
Excitement is rising in anticipation of tonight's first Bowmen of Warfield indoor club champs. The medals have been polished, the targets are ready, now we just need the archers!
There are a few spaces left if anybody wishes to make a last minute entry, alternatively why not pop by and cheer on the winners! Assembly is at 6.30pm.
